I am constantly inspired by nature and love celebrating the changing seasons. From crafts, to favorite scents to using nature as decor, here are some ways we embraced the Autumn Equinox this year. Most are low effort and require little planning and can be done in an afternoon but we'll probably continue to do throughout the season!

BOOKS

I am a big proponent of toy and book swaps, I put away seasonal toys and books and sometimes just tired toys fir awhile. It keeps clutter (kind of) to a minimum and it's like it's all brand new again each season. First thing we did was pull down all our favorite fall books! Some we buy new, some I thrifted, some we get from the library. Here's a list of some of our favorites!

SCENTS

The only two places I buy candles from is Easton Candle Co. and Laurel Mercantile so I lit those first thing too. I also got a simmer pot going which makes the house so cozy. Here's my go to:
One orange sliced
2-3 cinnamon sticks
Sprinkle of cloves
Drop of two of vanilla
Fill a small pot more than half way and turn stove onto simmer. Toss in the orange slices first then add the rest of the ingredients once the water is warm. Keep it on low and top off water as needed throughout the day. Mine lasts roughly 2-3 days!

CRAFTY

Over the summer I started saving broken crayons or ones where the wax was pulled off. I got these fall molds off Amazon and Annie and I put the broken crayons in and viola! we had new crayons. Pop in the oven at 250 for 10-15 minutes and let them cool and harden completely before popping out. She liked putting the crayons in the molds more than the actual crayon but it was still fun!

BAKING

I made a batch of my favorite chocolate chip pumpkin muffins. I'll make them again multiple times this season!
*I use butter instead of coconut oil

LAST BUT NOT LEAST

I painted fun fall things in my sketchbook all week
